Kastina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari and six others have
been chosen by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress,
to conduct the Edo State governorship primaries scheduled to
hold on Saturday.
This was made public during the inauguration of the committee at
the APC National Headquarters, Abuja, on Thursday.
The party also inaugurated an election appeal committee which
will be chaired by Opeyemi Bamidele , a former member of the
House of Representatives alongside Mustapha Salisu and Ekwy
Onyido.
National Organising Secretary of the party, Sen. Osita Isunazo who
inaugurated the committees also reeled out guidelines for the two
committees.
He explained that 2873 delegates are expected to vote at the
primaries that will be contested by twelve aspirants.
Isunazo said, “We have the ward delegates comprising of twelve
persons per ward multiply by 192 wards in Edo State, we also
have local governments’ delegates, 26 persons per local
government multiply by 18 local government in Edo State, the
State Executive Delegates, 35 and statutory delegates 66
totaling 2873 delegates.”
In response, Masari assured the party leadership and all
participants of a level playing field by ensuring that the primaries
would be free and fair in the interest of all the aspirants.
